An absorbent article comprising a fluid-permeable topsheet, a fluid-impermeable backsheet and a corrugated absorbent material has been patented. The absorbent material contains a plurality of alternating peaks and valleys that are disposed between the topsheet and the backsheet. The material also features corrugations before and after wetting.
